Under Ind. Code § 9-21-8-59, drivers on public roads may not hold, support, or manually operate electronic communication devices while operating a motor vehicle on active roadways. Hands-free law with primary enforcement; moving violation points assessed.
Law enforcement officers throughout Indiana are authorized to issue citations whenever visual observation confirms prohibited device interaction.
