1. Overview

TicketCalc ("we," "our," or "us") operates the website at ticketcostcalculator.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide. The TicketCalc calculator runs entirely in your browser. We do not collect, transmit, or store any inputs you enter into the calculator (state, violation type, speed). No account or signup is required to use the Site.

Usage data. Like most websites, we automatically receive standard web server log data when you visit the Site, including your IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and timestamps. This data is used in aggregate to understand how the Site is used and to improve its performance.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to collect anonymised usage statistics — which pages are read, and in aggregate how people move through the Site. It may set cookies to tell a returning visitor from a new one. It is not given anything you type into the calculator. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

3. How we use your information

• To operate and improve the Site and calculator tool
• To analyse traffic patterns and popular content in aggregate
• To detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive traffic

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data to build individual profiles or make automated decisions about you.

4. Third-party services

The Site carries no paid or affiliate links today. It does link out to state DMV sites, state judiciary sites and the statutes each figure was taken from — those are sources, not partners, and each has its own privacy policy that we do not control.

We use Google Fonts to serve the Inter and JetBrains Mono typefaces. Google may collect data when these fonts are loaded. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.

5. Data retention

We do not retain any personally identifiable information you enter into the calculator — there is nothing to retain, because those inputs never leave your browser. Server log data is retained for up to 90 days for security and diagnostic purposes. Google Analytics data is retained in accordance with Google's data retention settings, which we have configured to 14 months.

6. Children's privacy

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it. Since we collect minimal personal data and do not maintain user accounts, most of these rights are satisfied by the nature of our service.
