The New Hampshire hands-free and distracted driving statute
Under RSA 265:79-c, drivers on public roads may not hold, support, or manually operate electronic communication devices while operating a motor vehicle on active roadways. Hands-free law with primary enforcement; moving infraction without points.
Law enforcement officers throughout New Hampshire are authorized to issue citations whenever visual observation confirms prohibited device interaction. Permissible mobile use is generally restricted to manufacturer-installed integrated dashboard interfaces, single-tap voice activation, or true hands-free speakerphone arrangements mounted securely to the vehicle console.
