What makes Wyoming different
The state posts rural interstates at the top of the national range, which means the margins that would be alarming elsewhere are reached at road speeds that feel ordinary here. There is no point value to record that margin, but there is a fine that scales with it and a conviction that counts toward the total.
Enforcement concentrates where the consequences are largest. Construction zones and the highway approaches to the national parks are where patrols are heaviest and where fines are doubled by statute, and those are also the places a driver is least likely to be watching the speedometer.
